About the organisation

Brisbane Catholic Education (BCE) is a learning community of over 140 schools within the Archdiocese of Brisbane, covering a geographical area that includes much of south-east Queensland.

Committed to high quality teaching and learning for more than 70,000 young people enrolled in our schools and colleges from Prep to Year 12, we inspire students with a love of learning and a heart of hope, empowering them to shape and enrich our world. Through our partnerships with parents, governments and the community, we provide social responsibility, self-discipline and Christian values for all our students and nurture and support the community in their faith journey.

About the role

As Guidance Counsellor, you will form part of the guidance and counselling team supporting the students and school community of St Joseph’s College, Coomera in this ongoing full time position. This is additional Guidance Counsellor position due to growing enrolments, focussing on supporting the primary years of our P-12 College while working collaboratively with the student support team and other Guidance Counsellor.

This is an exciting opportunity to grow with the College, as St Joseph’s College is a new school, currently in its third year of growth. St Josephs College Coomera is a Brisbane Catholic Education master planned co-educational College that opened in January 2019. Our first Seniors will graduate in 2024. The College is located in Coomera on the Northern Gold Coast, 40 minutes south of the Brisbane CBD.

St Joseph’s College, and its staff, are committed to the creation of an authentic Catholic community centred on learning growth and the encouragement, excellence and development of each childs character, intellect and spirit. Our College community is focussed on nurturing the “St Joseph’s Graduate”. This concept is a clearly articulated statement that outlines our intention in educating young people in a Catholic school in the Josephite tradition. Our education is dynamic and shaped by the leadership and action of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop, a woman of courage, faith and an irrepressible desire to change the lives and journey of the children.

You will work collaboratively with the school communities to foster the learning and wellbeing of all students through the provision of a proactive, quality guidance and counselling service.
