The Havering Teacher Training Partnership

Established in 2002, the programme is provided by Secondary schools in the London Borough of Havering with a long history of successful initial teacher training.  We offer a full range of secondary subjects and routes, drawing upon local and national expertise to meet the needs of our Trainees who achieve both QTS and a PGCE. Our focus has always been on both supporting and challenging our Trainees to achieve their full potential as teachers.  We regard the successful career progress of former Trainees as a key indicator of quality.

Over the last 3 years, the programme has experienced extensive change. With quality first teaching at its heart, HTTP is looking to embed its new PGCE programme and introduce an Apprenticeship route, to continue to meet the needs of local schools.

The role will involve working closely with a second manager, also on 3.5 days a week, to co-lead the HTTP Training Programme and its new cohort.  You should expect to be line managed by the current Director of HTTP who will support you in learning the management roles, developing the programme and continuing its journey to outstanding.  You will also be supported by a full time Administration Manager and a dedicated Finance Manager.

Purpose of the role

• To co-lead, develop and manage the HTTP Training programmes, ensuring that a high-quality teacher training experience is provided for all trainees

• To ensure aspiring teachers are equipped with the appropriate skills and knowledge to become excellent practitioners

• To ensure the HTTP programme is current, compliant and of a high quality, meeting the needs of local Partner Schools.

Interviews will take place on Friday 21st May 2021. In the meantime, if  further information is required, please email Jo Yates, HTTP Manager at jyates@elatschools.co.uk.

Empower Learning Academy Trust is committed to safer recruitment so all applicants must be prepared to undergo screening to confirm their ability to work with children.
