This is a fantastic opportunity for a creative and talented professional to join the team at Brooksby Hall (part of Brooksby Melton College). Set within our beautiful 850 acre Brooksby campus, Brooksby Hall has built a reputation as a first class centre for conferencing, banqueting and weddings.

The successful applicant will have a real passion for food and be responsible for the smooth running of the kitchen. You will be expected to produce food to a high standard for our weddings, conferencing, banqueting and our extensive student provision.

As Head Chef, you will be responsible for managing a small team and have experience of working in a similar capacity including banqueting and wedding menu preparation and tasting experience.   You will be responsible for maximising sales and profitability through the creation of great menus, meeting your financial targets whilst developing your staff and creating a motivated team

You must have the ability to work under pressure and be an effective team worker, demonstrating excellent communication and engagement skills.  You will be disciplined with a “right first time” work ethic with regard to maintaining legal requirements in respect of Hygiene, Health and Safety, Employment Law and Food Safety Law for all students, staff and customers.

Proficiency in all aspects of Microsoft Office programmes would be an advantage, along with good financial acumen and experience of staff performance management.

In return, we offer better life/work balance hours than most traditional event venues with most bank holidays and weekday evenings free, a long term rewarding role with a competitive salary and excellent holiday entitlement.  To take the next step in your career, visit www.brooksbymelton.ac.uk/jobs
