Bede’s Prep is different from other schools.  With a unique holistic educational philosophy which puts the individual first and gives equal priority to academic, co-curricular and pastoral aspects of school life, Bede’s Prep is an unashamedly modern school.  Pupils thrive in an environment where they can define their own interests and journey.  They are not limited to mainstream sports or curricula, taking advantage of the idyllic setting to engage in a plethora of activities.  Some explore themselves through sailing, riding or kayaking, others enjoy the working with the Senior School’s zoo to care for the School’s many animals.  But Bede’s Prep isn’t just a place where anything is possible, it’s a school where every child is not only cared for themselves but is ready to support and nurture their peers at every step of the way.  Most pupils leave at 13 to join the Senior School, as young citizens already contributing to their local and global community.

Bede’s Prep is a co-educational, day and boarding school nestled on a cliff top above Beachy Head in Eastbourne, for 275 children aged between 3 months to 13 years.  Bede’s Prep forms part of Bede’s; a collection of three schools: the Senior School at Upper Dicker, the Prep by the sea in Eastbourne and the Summer School headquartered at Upper Dicker.

The Head and Governors of Bede’s now seek an exceptional new Head to lead this excellent and forward-looking prep school.  This person will have the ability to inspire pupils, staff, parents and the community at large.  Their values will align with Bede’s holistic educational philosophy, valuing each individual student, as well as having a passion for modern pedagogy.  This person will encompass and be a proactive ambassador for the Bede’s values and ethos.
