The Governors of Twyford School seek an exceptional person as Head from September 2020 to succeed Dr Steve Bailey, who is retiring after ten years of service.
Twyford School is situated in the village of Twyford near Winchester, Hampshire. The school prides itself on being one of the oldest prep schools in the country, having a 221-year history. It is set in 20 acres of grounds in the middle of stunning countryside. At the heart of the school is a beautiful Queen Anne House surrounded by up-to-date facilities that allow a perfect blend of modern, forward-looking education underpinned by the traditional Christian values of empathy, respect and service.
The school is a strong family community where care for each other enables the happy, healthy pursuit of academic, sporting and cultural success.
The new Head will relish the opportunity to lead a vibrant and prestigious school. They will enjoy working with pupils, staff and parents and be collaborative, visible and accessible. They will provide inspirational, clear leadership and vision for the whole school. They will value and share every stage of the pupils’ educational journey and ensure that every child is prepared for their future schools; pupils from Twyford School regularly secure places at wide range of senior public schools. Most importantly, they will enable every pupil in their care to develop the skills to lead happy, fulfilling lives in an ever-changing world.
Twyford School is financially secure, and the Governors have an ambitious master plan to develop its facilities further.
A highly competitive remuneration package, including family accommodation in a recently refurbished five-bedroom house on-site, is available commensurate with the seniority of the post and the experience of the successful candidate.
