We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic highly experienced coach/instructor for a newly created post of Head of Aquatics.
One of the largest performance and participation sports offered in the School, you will be an engaging coach who can deliver first class sessions in both timetabled lessons and our extensive co-curricular programme across all year groups.
The position will involve developing the swimming capabilities for all pupils, providing support for those less confident in water, improving swim fitness and capability of others, whilst also identifying and developing those capable of competing at an elite level for the school and beyond. It is likely that this will include communication with local clubs and other outside agencies. You will also be able to provide significant coaching support and assistance with the water polo programme, working with our Head of Water Polo.
The opening of the £13 million Medburn Sports Centre, with its state-of-the-art 25 million eight lane swimming pool, has only strengthened our ambition to provide a world class aquatics programme at Habs. We already enjoy an enviable reputation both locally and nationally for pool related sports but are now seeking someone who can further inspire and motivate an ever-growing number of performers at all levels of ability.
You will have the passion and expertise to ensure all pupils make excellent progress in aquatic activities, encouraging all pupils as part of programmes which allow for participation, personal development and for aspiring young athletes on elite performance pathways.
Your application should set out your current salary, and desired working pattern (full time or term time).
Your application should include a three minute video presentation outlining your vision for an aquatics programme to support our elite performers (i.e. performance and not participation) here at Habs.
Shortlisted candidates will be expected to complete a short practical session on the day of interview.
Closing date: 8am, Thursday 7 January 2021.
Interviews: to be confirmed.
