Are you ready to lead a highly successful Biology department in an ‘Outstanding’ school?  

Glyn School is seeking an innovative and dynamic Head of Biology to join us from September 2019 or earlier.  

This is an exciting opportunity for an aspiring or established subject leader who is passionate about Science and has the ability to create an impact. Biology is a thriving subject at Glyn School and our students are achieving consistently high ALPS scores of 2 and 3.

We are looking to you to take on the leadership of Biology at Glyn and assist in the management of the Science faculty. The Head of Biology will be responsible for:

  • Supporting students and colleagues in the delivery of Biology across KS3, KS4 and KS5.
  • Creating and leading the development of resources and learning environment to ensure outstanding student progress.
  • Organising and leading A Level Biology field trips.

You will have the opportunity to lead and grow in a dynamic, forward thinking and progressive Science faculty. We offer excellent internal and external CPD training and frequently invite colleagues to collaborate and liaise with leading teachers across the GLF Multi-Academy Trust.

Glyn School s ideally situated just ten minutes’ walk from both Ewell East and Ewell West stations, both of which are approximately 20 minutes from Clapham Junction and within Zone 6.

Science at Glyn School:

Science is an integral part of the curriculum at Glyn and is taught across KS3, KS4 and KS5. Each class at KS3 is taught Biology, Chemistry and Physics and periodic set changes occur based on regular assessment. Triple and Combined Science is offered at KS4. Science is a popular subject choice at KS5, with an average of three A Level classes for all branches of Science – Biology, Physics, and Chemistry.
