Head of Biology
We are looking to appoint a high quality, enthusiastic head of biology to join our large, successful, sector leading science department. Our science department achieves outstanding GCSE and Advanced Level results with more than 80% of pupils achieve grade A*-C in GCSE science including more than 25% achieving A*/A grades. A level performance places the school in the top 30% of schools (ALPs data). This is backed by the option numbers in our Sixth Form with over 80 students studying biology at AS and A-Level. It is therefore essential that the successful candidate has the ability to teach biology to GCSE and A level standard.
The Alun School, which is situated twelve miles from the historic city of Chester, is a co-educational comprehensive school with 240+ in each year group and a Sixth Form of almost 400 students. We have a thriving programme of extra-curricular activities and relationships with parents are very good. All members of staff are very positive about their school and staff turnover is very low.
To apply for this job, please complete the Alun School application form fully and email, with a covering letter (two sides of A4), outlining your experiences to date to email@example.com
Please ensure that your application form is fully completed ensuring that a full work history is provided and any gaps in your employment are fully explained.
