Job overview

HEAD OF BOARDING / SENIOR BOARDING HOUSE PARENT(S)

Required for September 2019

Are you passionate about boarding education and the pastoral care of young people? If so, Highfield and Brookham Schools are offering a superb opportunity for just such a suitably qualified and experienced person. We are seeking to appoint a Head of Boarding, who would also lead one of the Senior Boarding Houses, from September 2019. This opportunity could also suit a couple, with potentially each taking responsibility for a Senior Boarding House, with one acting as Head of Boarding. If applying as a couple, at least one of the successful applicants will be a qualified teacher, as would the Head of Boarding. Boarding at Highfield is thriving and the role involves overall management and responsibility for approximately 120 boarding boys and girls from Years 4 to 8. The Head of Boarding will be a member of SMT, with oversight and responsibility for managing boarding, including the Senior Boarding Houses and Junior Boarding House, liaising closely with the Junior House Parents. The development and promotion of boarding is a key element of the role and the opportunity to play a broader role in the development of the provision for pastoral care at the school could be available to a suitably qualified candidate. This role offers an excellent remuneration package and spacious family accommodation.

Closing date for applications: Monday 18th March with interviews being held the week commencing Monday 18th March.

We are an I.A.P.S. co-educational Boarding and Day Pre-Prep and Prep School for approximately 500 pupils aged 3 to 13. Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers, the Employer Online Service regarding prohibition orders issued by the Secretary of State and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Highfield and Brookham Schools are an Equal Opportunities Employer.
