The role
This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of Economics and Business education at a leading independent school, inspiring the next generation of economists and business leaders.
As Head of Business and Economics, you will be responsible for the strategic direction, leadership and day-to-day management of our high-achieving Business and Economics department. You will oversee the delivery of high standards of teaching and learning, the effective use of resources, and a broad and stimulating curriculum in line with school policy.
Building on the popularity of Business and Economics at the School, you will actively promote further interest in the subjects through the delivery of a vibrant extracurricular provision and enrichment opportunities. In addition to your departmental responsibilities, you will also deliver stimulating and engaging lessons, igniting a passion for the subjects in your students.
You will be an enthusiastic, positive and hard-working individual, with excellent interpersonal, organisational and time management skills. Previous experience of teaching Business and Economics is essential, as well as the ability to inspire, motivate and support pupils.
The Business and Economics Department
Economics and Business are thriving subjects within our Sixth Form, consistently achieving outstanding A Level results. The department is well-resourced, featuring interactive whiteboards, a wide range of teaching materials, and strong collaborative links with colleagues across the GDST network. Beyond the curriculum, pupils benefit from a variety of enrichment opportunities, including visits to financial institutions in the City of London and participation in the GDST-wide Trust lead competition, which encourages entrepreneurial thinking.
