Hours: Approximately 0.6 – 0.8 FTE, term time

We are looking for a well-qualified, highly personable professional to lead our thriving Careers and Higher Education Department. 

As Head of Careers and Higher Education, you will offer advice and guidance to students as they research, plan and prepare for their future. You will work closely with the Heads of Sixth Form, Head of PSHE, Work Experience Coordinator, Enterprise Coordinator and subject departments to prepare our students to make informed educational choices and equip them with the knowledge, skills and personal qualities they will need to be successful in their future careers.

The role will appeal to someone who has the drive and motivation to further develop this highly successful department in a school which delivers outstanding Careers and HE guidance and education to all pupils. 

Sheffield Girls’ has fully met the Quality in Careers Standard incorporating the 8 Gatsby benchmarks and was awarded the Career Mark Gold Award, recognising the School’s outstanding provision. 

Experience of the UCAS application process and delivering careers education and guidance to students aged 11-18 is essential. Post graduate qualifications in Careers Guidance or Career Leadership and knowledge of UK and overseas higher education application systems is equally important.

This role is offered on a part-time basis (approximately 0.6 – 0.8 FTE, term time) and there is flexibility over the days in school.
