The British Horse Society (BHS) is the UK’s largest equine charity with a passion for horses that is backed by knowledge and expertise. The BHS represents and provides a range of services for horse riders, horse owners, equestrian centres, enthusiasts and professionals. Everything we do is driven by the desire to improve the lives of horses and bring horses and people together.
The Changing Lives through Horses (CLtH) programme is a key element of our Participation strategy. Through the use of horses and the equine environment, CLtH provides learning opportunities for young people who are disengaged or disadvantaged and encourages students to progress with their education.
The Head of Changing Lives through Horses (CLtH) will lead the strategic development and successful implementation of the programme throughout the UK.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience of working with disadvantaged and disengaged young people together with an in depth knowledge of educational frameworks and learning outcomes. In addition, a strong understanding of funding available for Alternative Provision through Schools, Local Authorities, Multi Academy Trusts and others to ensure the sustainability of the CLtH programme.
