The Trustees are seeking to appoint a Head of Chemistry for Sedgefield Community College with effect from September 2021

Following the promotion of the existing post-holder, we welcome applicants with recent experience of successful delivery of science up to GCSE, particularly chemistry. Although some experience of leadership within science would be beneficial, exceptional candidates who are relatively new to the profession will be considered.

Our Science department has, for some time, been one of the very highest achieving across the entire Northeast region. This success being built upon a foundation of high-quality teaching and outstanding leadership. The Science teaching team is made up of excellent teachers who are highly supportive of one another and whose skill and enthusiasm for their subject has resulted in outstanding student outcomes, exemplary student engagement and a tangible shared aspiration to ensure that students achieve the highest possible grades.
