Tes are currently working on behalf of a private and well-recognized school in Madrid who are looking to appoint an outstanding Head of Chemistry to join their successful Senior School Science department. The school offers British education to boys and girls of all nationalities from the age of two to eighteen.
The School regards its task as being to provide its pupils an academically excellent, all-round liberal humanistic education and the necessary basis to succeed in the adult world, and above all, to help them to acquire a moral sense as members of the international, worldwide community.
The successful applicant will have:
- a good honours degree
- a PGCE or other qualified teacher status for secondary Science - Chemistry specialism
- recent experience as a teacher in a school in the UK
- recent experience teaching IGCSE and A Level Chemistry
- have a record of excellence at A-Level and IGCSE Chemistry results
- be familiar with the new Cambridge IGCSE Core & Extended Specification as well as with the Edexcel A level Specification, including the practical proficiency (CPAC) criteria.
In return, the school will offer:
- Competitive salary of 40,000 € per year + a signing-up bonus of € euros to the successful candidate.
- Full-time permanent contract
- Social Security contributions which entitle full free state medical cover, contribution to state pension and unemployment benefit.
