We are seeking to recruit an outstanding and motivated Head of Department who is able to provide the vision and strategic leadership for our Chemistry Department. You will join a team of ambitious middle leaders who are committed to providing an outstanding educational experience for all our students.

Chemistry at Rosebery School is a high-profile subject. The department consists of six highly competent and enthusiastic staff who work well together to provide the very best experience for students in all year groups. The number of students choosing the subject at A level continues to grow year on year with over 40 students expected to study chemistry A Level in Year 12 from September 2021.

The Science department as a whole has a strong team of 14 teachers who are supported by four experienced technicians.

What we are looking for:

You will:

• Be an outstanding classroom practitioner who will teach Chemistry to students in Years 9 to 13.

• Teach Science to students in Years 7 and 8.

• Have experience of managing or mentoring other teaching staff.

• Have high standards of communication and interpersonal skills.

• Be enthusiastic and highly motivated, committed to working as part of a team.

• Have the ability to motivate both students and peers with a proven track record in achieving excellent student progress.

• Be passionate about student welfare.
