Doha College is a high-profile leading British International School, for children aged 3-18, offering a well-balanced, all-embracing curriculum that follows the UK National Curriculum. Doha College is opening a brand-new pioneering, 90,000m² state-of-the-art campus, which will see us grow to a 10-form primary school, operating across two campuses, and a 10-form secondary school. We are looking to appoint an experienced, dynamic and enthusiastic Head of Computer Science to start in September 2020. The successful candidate will be teaching all key stages and be responsible for the day-to-day running of a busy department, for instilling a passion for your subjects in students, monitoring and evaluating student achievements as well as contributing to accomplishing the College’s vision and mission. The ideal candidate will have some experience of managing and supporting a team of staff and also be an outstanding role model within the Computer Science Department and Doha College as a whole.
The department consists of four full-time teachers and is at the forefront of leading and supporting digital technology to enhance the learning for all students. It offers a wide range of courses including IGCSE and A Level Computer Science and applicants should be able to demonstrate success in all age groups.
Alongside an academic focus, we also offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities, aimed at increasing learning of the subject and promoting the uptake of the subject at GCSE and A Level. The department offers a number of enrichment activities including Botball, Alice programming and The National Robotics Olympiad, where we have an enviable record of success.
All our classrooms are equipped with interactive smartboards and displays, and all students are furnished with an iPad upon entry.
