Head of Computer Science

Brampton Manor AcademyNewham

• Highly competitive salary (+ Inner London supplement)

• Excellent staff development opportunities

• Recruitment & Retention allowance

• Relocation expenses

An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead our successful Computer Science department through the next stage of its development. Computer science is a core subject at key stage 3 and is a popular subject choice at GCSE. A vocational IT course is also offered to a small group of students at key stage 4.  We also offer Computer Science at A level (AS and A2) and many students go on to study the subject at the elite Russell Group Universities, including Oxbridge. Outcomes at both GCSE and A Level are consistently good.

The successful applicant will play a key role in further developing the subject at key stages 4 and 5 and be an outstanding classroom practitioner with the vision to be creative, the passion to motivate, and the subject-knowledge to challenge and inspire. You will be a strong leader, be ambitious for the further development of the department, and be committed to its wider provision (including exchanges, study visits and a programme of extension and enrichment).

Brampton Manor Academy is a dynamic school that is proud of what it has achieved but is not complacent about the challenges that lie ahead; we are constantly seeking ways to further improve the quality of education on offer to the young people in our care, knowing the transformative impact it can have on their life chances.
