This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative leader with strong curriculum understanding to join us as Head of Computing. You will also play a key role in The London, Hertfordshire and Essex Computing Hub alongside duties at Helena Romanes School.

Reporting directly to one of our Senior Team, you will have a varied, dynamic and strategic role as Head of Computing. You will provide strong leadership to your team, with a clear focus on continuing to drive improvements in teaching, curriculum design and students progress across the department. As such, this role will prepare candidates for onward progression to senior leadership positions should they wish.

In addition, you will have the opportunity to work as part of the team at The London, Hertfordshire and Essex Computing Hub, based at Saffron Walden County High School. Possible roles could include:

● Facilitating the Teach Computing course

● Undertaking some aspects of hub leadership

● Working with schools across the region to improve the teaching of computer science

● Working with CAS communities across the hub region

We are a mixed 4 – 18 Academy with over 1200 pupils on roll. The school is situated in beautiful countryside, occupying approximately 35 acres just to the north of Great Dunmow.

The school was established in 1958 and is named in honour of the first Chair of Governors.
