Job overview

ARKIS and ARKS Diyar, Bahrain are looking for an inspirational and dynamic Head of Creative Arts.

The required candidate will be responsible for overseeing both schools' Creative Arts departments. This is a wonderful opportunity for the right candidate to grow departments from scratch and imprint their own vision of what an excellent Creative Arts department should look like and the impact these subjects should have on our learners.

The suitable candidate must be highly motivated, have a Growth Mindset, be able to inspire both students and staff, and love teaching. We are looking for someone with experience with IGCSE/GCSE and/or IB curriculums. The successful candidate should also be well-versed in writing and developing bespoke curriculums.

We pride ourselves on being 'Happy' schools as we believe happy learners and staff always exceed their potential.

Abdulrahman Kanoo School Diyar (ARKS) opened in August 2022 and is the second standalone school under the Abdulrahman Education Group- the only educational institution in Bahrain with two separate schools under their umbrella. Our late Founder and sole funder of the schools’, Mr. Abdulrahman Jasim Kanoo, had the vision to make education accessible to all within the Kingdom. The new purpose-built facility was constructed and opened to a starting cohort of 220 children from Nursery to Yr. 5. British curriculum, we are expecting the school to grow as we open Yr. 6 in August 23/24. Environment and Innovation are at the centre of the school’s ethos, along with offering students access to four multi-purpose courts (FIFA and FIBA approved), the facilities themselves are built into the curriculum itself. ARKS is the only school in the Kingdom to be tri-lingual- as it offers conversational Mandarin. The Innovation Lab has multiple uses and supports the mindfulness aspects, along with weekly assemblies and house the library. In week ten of the first Term, ARKS and its sister school ARKIS had already collected accolades for its Child Protection/Welfare Programme and Mandarin.

ARKIS Salmabad opened in 1997 and now has 2200 students on roll and over 250 full-time staff. The school offers both Oxford and Cambridge Curricula from Nursery to Grade 8. We then offer the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum for Grades 9 and 10 and the IBDP curriculum for Grades 11 and 12.

ARKIS and ARKS are committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being and welfare of our students. Our staff share this same commitment and hold this responsibility to ensure the safety of our school community. To this end, both a Good Conduct, Enhanced Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest, vetting inclusive and restricted to reference checks, identity and criminal record checks, social media, and notarised qualifications and validations.
