An exciting opportunity has arisen for a well-qualified and inspirational Head of Drama.

North London Collegiate School Jeju is a large, thriving co-educational Day and Boarding school for students aged 4-18. Our curriculum and ambitious academic ethos, together with our extensive co-curricular programme, reflect our close links with NLCS in London and provide a high quality
British Independent School education in an international setting.

The spirit of NLCS Jeju is one of high energy and achievement. Our students combine academic excellence and a deep love of learning with a wealth of co-curricular opportunities to develop into exceptional individuals who believe that anything is possible. Results throughout the school are formidable and last year’s graduating students achieved an average IBDP score of 37, with 39% earning a score of 40+. Our alumni are now attending some of the world’s leading universities, including Oxford, Cambridge, Stanford and Princeton.

We believe that NLCS Jeju is a unique opportunity for teachers. We offer a highly competitive salary and benefits package including accommodation, annual flights, health insurance, tax subsidies and free places at the school for teachers’ children. We also provide first-class professional development
through NLCS Jeju, the established NLCS educational community and a variety of external providers.

The school is set in one of Asia’s most beautiful and spectacular locations. Jeju Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site 130km off the southern coast of the Korean peninsula, is often described as one of Asia’s best kept secrets. With its temperate climate, stunning natural scenery, array of rare and endangered wildlife and welcoming beaches, it is a fascinating and breathtaking environment in which to live.

Whilst we enjoy excellent facilities in a prime location, it is our people that make the School a special place. If you are interested in joining our team please submit an application, in the first instance, by emailing an up to date CV, covering letter, and details of 3 referees (one of which should be your
current or most recent employer) to recruitment@nlcsjeju.kr. Candidates selected for interview will be asked to submit a standard application form at that point.

The deadline for applications is 4th January 2018, with final interviews planned to be held during 15th-17th January 2018. However, an appointment may be made prior to this if an exceptional candidate is found.

NLCS Jeju is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to enhanced background checks.

NLCS Jeju was the first NLCS International School to open its doors in 2011. It is located on the island of Jeju, in South Korea, but its proud heritage is from the United Kingdom, where in 1850 education pioneer Frances Mary Buss established the North London Collegiate School.

In just a few years NLCS Jeju has earned a reputation as one of the most prestigious and successful schools in East Asia. IB Diploma results are outstanding and the school’s graduates are attending some of the world’s leading universities, including Oxbridge and Ivy League colleges.

In keeping with the NLCS philosophy, the curriculum is aspirational and provides significant academic challenge for students. Students sit iGCSE examinations at the end of Year 11 and follow the IB Diploma Programme through Years 12 and 13.

NLCS Jeju offers a highly competitive salary and benefits package including accommodation, flights, health insurance and free places at the school for teachers’ children.

Location

The school is located on the picturesque island of Jeju, in South Korea, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is also the first international school to be opened as part of the Global Education City on Jeju Island, which is becoming the centre of English education in Korea and the pre-eminent educational hub of Asia.

Jeju Island, 130km off the southern coast of the Korean peninsula, is often described as one of Asia’s best-kept secrets. Jeju’s temperate climate, natural scenery and beaches make it a popular tourist destination for South Koreans as well as visitors from other parts of East Asia.
