An outstanding opportunity exists to join the Dehong Schools Group as Head of Elementary School for its state-of-the-art school in Xi’an, which opened in September 2019 and now caters for over 200 students in grades 1-5.  Dehong Xi’an International Chinese School is the third Dehong campus, with two schools located in Shanghai and Beijing and others to be developed in the primary cities of China.  Dehong is a sister school to the Dulwich College International (DCI) family of schools and offers a combined programme comprising the compulsory national curriculum enhanced with the Dulwich child-centred educational philosophy and progressive pedagogy.

The Dehong Xi’an campus provides first-class facilities integrating collaborative learning spaces with areas dedicated to performing arts, sports, STEAM and innovation. When fully open, the school will have 6-forms of entry serving a total of 2,000 students. 

This role offers a unique opportunity to assume the leadership of the Elementary School of a young International Chinese school that has quickly been established as a leading school in the region.  

The successful candidate should be passionate about student learning and have the positivity, drive and commitment to inspire the students and teachers.  S/he will develop exceptional learning experiences for students and staff and nurture an inclusive school community. The challenge is to support the delivery of the Principal’s clear vision, embedding strong systems and policies to secure the smooth operational leadership of the school as it grows and continues to improve.  These professional attributes should be combined with exceptional communication skills, emotional intelligence and intercultural curiosity, enabling the new Head of Elementary School to play a prominent role in the school community and be a respected ambassador for Dehong.
