Head of English and Maths

Hours:  37 hours per week 

Salary: £40,978.00 - £43,471.00 per annum 

Status: Permanent

Calderdale College is seeking to appoint an outstanding leader who has the ability to engage and motivate a team to become consistently high performing teachers who will assist and support in realising high-levels of grade 4-9 GCSE English and Maths achievement. The successful candidate will have experience in leading a GCSE English / Maths or other examined subject department and will have a proven track- record of supporting learners to make outstanding progress.  They will also have a strong desire and ability to follow through in continuously improving the quality of teaching, learning and assessment.

To be suitable for this role they must have a First Degree and a recognised teaching qualification.

Our ideal candidate will have a strong record in leadership and will be able to provide evidence of how they have led teams to deliver outstanding results. They will have excellent motivational skills and an ability to direct a diverse team to achieve a vision of high achievement. They will also possess the communication and leadership skills required to work successfully with a range of different stakeholders in the pursuit for excellence across the English and Maths curriculum.
