Required for September 2018 a well qualified, versatile and enthusiastic English Specialist to lead this successful department.

The successful candidate will be:

There is a tradition of high standards of behaviour and excellent examination results at the College. Claverham is a popular and oversubscribed Community College which serves a mainly rural catchment area within East Sussex. The College was designated as ‘Outstanding’ during its most recent inspection by Ofsted. 

As a Community College, we have an active Community Education programme, Sports Centre and a Day Nursery. The nursery is open all year round and takes children between 3 months and 5 years of age. Claverham Community College is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school in Battle, East Sussex. There are approximately 1,168 students at the school between the ages of 11-16.    

Claverham Community College opened in 1973, developed from Battle County Secondary School and is on the grounds that belonged to the Battle Abbey Estate, adjacent to the Battle of Hastings site.

Claverham Community College wants all students to acheive their full potential in a nurturing and stimulating environment. It hopes for pupils to progress academically, emotionally, physically and socially during their time at the school and to be kind to others at all times. Claverham Community College wants students to be prepared for the next stage of their life after school and to be able to acquire a good understanding of social, economic and political order to be able to contribute positively to society. The secondary school wants students to have the best chance of succeeding and offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities for them to expand their skillset outside of class, ranging from sports clubs to drama productions. School trips around the local area and abroad are also organised to give another dimension to their learning.
