We are looking to appoint an inspirational talented and dynamic Head of Faculty for English with a proven track record of achievement.  Your key duties will include: ensuring effective teaching of English at Key Stages 3, 4 & 5 and Media Studies at Key Stages 4 & 5; monitoring and evaluating students’ achievements; coordinating student interventions; leading substantial curriculum change; ensuring that the faculty has the leadership and support necessary to maintain high standards.

Edmonton County School is a multicultural oversubscribed school, which in 2016 achieved a Progress 8 score of +0.23 (above national average).  The strong performance of students reflects the outstanding planning, teaching and feedback provided to students by department staff. Resources for all key stages are pre-planned and shared electronically; enabling staff time to differentiate resources for mixed-ability groups. 

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate consistent high-quality teaching, in-depth subject knowledge and a commitment to collaborative work. We are seeking to appoint an ambitious person who combines excellent organisational and management skills with the ability to lead, inspire and motivate both staff and students.

Edmonton County School is a co-educational, non-denominational, community all-through school in Enfield, Middlesex. The school is split across two campuses, with the primary phase located on Bury Street and the secondary facilities on Great Cambridge Road. There are about 1,687 children aged 4-18 on the school roll, 278 of whom attend the sixth form.
