Are you a dynamic, engaging and experienced Teacher of English looking for a new challenge? Do you have previous experience at middle leadership level? King Edward VII Academy require a new Head of English from January 2019 who will continue to make a significant contribution to our journey to outstanding through the strong leadership of the English department. In the Summer of 2018 the academy made a 10% jump in Maths and English combined with Attainment 8 grades improving to close to the national average. 2019 results have demonstrated this is a sustained improvement.
The emphasis in English is on high quality curriculum content with traditional pedagogy reinforced by Rosenshine's principles. The curriculum content from Year 7 to Year 10 is heavily based on Literature with the literacy journey supporting ongoing success at first GCSE and then A Level. At King Edward VII Academy we are fully committed to encouraging and developing all of our students to achieve their full potential.
Our students range from age 11 to 18, including students in our well-respected and ‘Good’ Sixth Form.

The Eastern Multi-Academy Trust was originally established in 2010 as the CWA Academy Trust, due to continued growth and success with Academies at both Primary and Secondary level in King’s Lynn and the surrounding area we became independent in 2017. Skills & Experience
It is essential that you are Degree qualified within the relevant subject area with QTS status.
The successful candidate will have previous secondary classroom experience, knowledge of current issues and development in education, a good awareness of strategies to improve the learning and achievement of students and a desire to raise standards in teaching and learning to improve achievement as well as experience as a Head of Department or Second of Department.
You will be committed to supporting learning, able to relate to students in a pleasant and sympathetic manner and have an enthusiastic and engaging approach.
