Salary : United Learning PayScale (Competitive with MPS/UPS) Plus TLR ranging from £6,000 - £8,000 depending on experience.
Reporting to : Director of English
Start date: September 2025
Role Summary
To contribute to the overall leadership of Irlam and Cadishead Academy. You will provide professional leadership and management to the English department in order to secure high quality teaching, the effective use of resources and improved standards of learning and achievement of all students.
We are looking for an innovative and experienced Head of English to lead, manage and develop the department, maximising student achievement and progress through a creative and challenging curriculum.
Main responsibilities:
- highly motivated and enthusiastic.
- Passionate about learning and has a strong subject knowledge.
- A committed team player, you will have excellent organisational skills.
- The ability to motivate both students and peers.
- dedicated to setting high standards and expectations in student outcomes, behaviour, attendance and appearance, and to celebrate success and achievements.

- act as a role model to students so professionalism and confidentiality will be your key attributes.
