Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced fundraiser to play a pivotal role in the management and strategy of Bradfield College’s ‘Be Involved’ fundraising initiative.

The launch of the ‘Be Involved’ initiative in 2021 has proven extremely successful in driving engagement with our parents, both former and current, our alumni and our friends in the community, including former staff.

As Head of Fundraising, you will build on the success of the ‘Be Involved’ campaign and lead fundraising projects by opening conversations, building positive relationships and soliciting donations.

This role will not require a new strategic framework or extensive research – much of that work has been done; this role is focussed on maximising the potential from the community.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • The management and strategy of the prospect pipeline
  • Managing a portfolio of senior gift prospects, providing tailored solutions and ongoing updates
  • Managing the solicitation and stewardship of major donations to assist the College’s ambitious development initiatives
  • Attending key College events, both nationally and internationally, to build positive and productive relationships with potential donors

To be considered for this role you will need considerable experience as a major gifts fundraiser with a successful record of soliciting donations from high net-worth individuals. Proven experience of developing and implementing innovative fundraising methodologies is equally important.

You will also need experience of managing, mentoring and coaching teams.

In return, Bradfield College offer a variety of benefits, such as:

  • Free meal during the working day provided when College kitchens are open
  • Subsidised membership of the Sports Complex
  • Subsidised membership of the College Golf Club
  • Contributory Pension Scheme

The closing date for applications is Wednesday 6 July 2022.

Bradfield College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening as part of their application. This includes submitting an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Certificate prior to employment, registration of the DBS Update Service and checks with past employers.

About Bradfield College

Founded in 1850 by Thomas Stevens, and set in the village of Bradfield amidst unspoilt Berkshire countryside, Bradfield College enjoys a well-established reputation for being one of the country’s leading co-educational, independent schools through its provision of academic excellence and a well-rounded education.

The College welcomes pupils from Britain and overseas; the pupil body numbers approximately 770, comprising 480 boys and 290 girls from 13 to 18 years of age.

Boys and girls enter Bradfield at 13+ and many more join the College’s popular and vibrant Sixth Form, where they can choose to study either the IB or A Levels. Faulkner’s, a state-of-the-art boarding house, is specially designed to help all girls and boys make a happy and successful transition from prep school (we recruit from more than 70) to senior school; pupils then move into one of 11 senior houses.

We offer an unrivalled sports and activities programme for all our pupils which ensures that every girl and boy has the opportunity to develop valuable skills outside the classroom, wherever their interests lie.
