Job overview

Collingham Sixth-form College is seeking a dynamic Head of GCSE to lead and manage the department. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious educational professional to make their own mark and step up to taking responsibility for a vibrant department within the college.

The GCSE Department accommodates around 35 GCSE students, the main body of which are in Year 11, and delivers one-year, intensive courses. Although it operates in liaison with the sixth-form college, the Department has its own building in Kensington and, in some ways, operates as a small, independent school in its own right.

The role is to manage and oversee all aspects of the students’ GCSE studies, ensuring the outstanding quality of both academic delivery and pastoral care.

This post would suit an inspirational secondary professional with experience of Key Stage 4 demands and requirements. Excellent management potential and organisational skills are essential, as is a real affinity with the 14-16 age group.

Closing date for submissions: 23rd February 2018
Shortlisted candidates will be notified by 2nd March 2018.
First-round interviews will take place on Thursday 8th March 2018.
