Head of Geography
Permanent position. TLR2B.
Start date September 2018 ( or 1st July 2018 if possible ).
Werneth School seeks a Head of Geography to lead the department forward into the next stage of its development. Werneth School is a vibrant and popular school in Stockport. The school serves a diverse community and is entering an exciting phase of its development. The school entered a brand new school premises on 2nd November 2016. The school has embarked on a number of significant developments over the last 2 years, with the appointment of a new headteacher in September 2015. Our new Head of Geography will play a significant role in improving standards by means of the monitoring and improvement of standards of teaching within this important area. Geography is a subject that requires an energetic leader to revitalise the subject and improve results. The department is housed in the centre of the school and each classroom has an interactive touchscreen and teaching wall.
The successful candidate will:
Be a charismatic leader with the ability to enthuse and develop the department. Be passionate and knowledgeable about Geography, and how to create and maintain a good quality Geography curriculum. Have the ability and courage to drive improvements within the Geography department Have excellent organisational, management, ICT and interpersonal skills
