St Olave’s is the Prep School of St Peter’s School, York (3-18), with 360 children aged 8-13.  We are seeking a specialist geography teacher who can lead the teaching of the subject throughout St Olave’s whilst teaching all lessons in Years 6-8. This is a fantastic opportunity to be fully involved in the pastoral and co-curricular aspects of St Olave’s, with the possibility of being involved in our sports programme. St Peter's 8-13, for girls and boys aged 8 to 13 years, is adjacent to the main campus of St Peter’s School, York. Under the leadership of the Master, the teaching staff provide expertise in the 8 to 13 range, guaranteeing subject specialism to challenge and support every pupil. 

The curriculum is wide and challenging with expert teaching from the earliest age. There are many opportunities for recreational and competitive sport with girls’ and boys’ teams enjoying success both regionally and nationally. There are numerous co-curricular activities to choose from on a weekly basis. Music plays a central role in school life, involving the full range of orchestral instruments.

Pupils benefit from fantastic resources and a 47-acre green campus close to the historic centre of York, including industry-recognised sports pitches, an award-winning swimming pool and a new boat house on the banks of the River Ouse. 

Boarding is an integral element of the School and is accommodated in Wentworth, a boarding house on the main school campus. Boarding options are available from Year 7, enabling pupils to dedicate more time to the things they love.

St Peter's 8-13 has retained its own identity – a school within a school – giving all pupils a sense of pride and identity. It is recognised as a school in its own right, playing a vital role in the success of St Peter’s School, York.
