For September 2021, The Prep is excited to be recruiting for the new role of Head of Humanities where the postholder will oversee the provision for History, Geography and Religious Studies. In addition, the post holder will be an integral part of the History and/or Religious Studies teaching team, delivering high quality learning to children from Years 5-8.
Not only will the successful candidate be a capable leader with strong vision and desire to develop this new post, but they will also be able to motivate their team and engage their pupils. The postholder will be an outstanding classroom practitioner who will play a key part in ensuring every child is equipped to reach their full potential.
Rated by ISI as ‘excellent in all areas’, The Prep has very high expectations of all staff and pupils and we are looking for somebody who will share and drive forward this expectation. Via the Deputy Head Academic, the postholder will take on responsibility for the leadership of the humanities subjects and for the teaching, learning and day-to-day management of the departments. This is an exciting new opportunity for someone who wishes to further develop their leadership experience. A generous timetable reduction will be applicable to enable the role to be executed effectively, and the salary includes an Extra Responsibility Allowance commensurate to the nature of the position.
