Job overview

We are looking for someone who is motivated to make a significant difference to the life chances of our students. As a dedicated and enthusiastic leader in the Faculty, you will have a clear passion for your subject and have an excellent understanding of the KS2 English curriculum and assessment and experience of building strong foundations for English Language and Literature in KS3. In addition you will have successful experience of teaching the new KS4 English curriculum and specifications. Your priorities as a leading teacher will be to develop, plan and deliver challenging and engaging lessons for all learners. 

The English team has a wealth of experience and as a new member of the team you will be warmly welcomed into the Faculty. The Faculty has clear guidelines on rewards and sanctions and promotes a calm learning environment in all classrooms. Standards are very high in the Faculty and quality assurance checks are consistent to promote good and outstanding teaching. There are extensive schemes of work available on the electronic shared area, which cater for KS3, KS4 and A Level. The Faculty is keen to promote and encourage a range of extra–curricular activities and there will be many opportunities for you to become involved in enriching the lives of our students.  As there are many CPD opportunities available in the Faculty and throughout the school.

Moseley School first opened its doors in 1923. We value our long history whilst being excited about our future. There are 1400 students, 195 teaching and support staff, excellent facilities housed in a grade two listed building, a modern building which opened in 2012 and a recently completed sports complex and extensive grounds. Staff enjoy access to our on-site gym.
