We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Middle Leader: Head of Learning and Teaching: Middle Years.

This is a tier 2+ position. This is a full-time continuing teaching appointment, with an initial two-year appointment until the end of the current triennium as Middle Leader. Two subsequent three-year appointments as Middle Leader will be offered following a successful performance review.

As Middle Leader Head of Learning and Teaching: Middle Years - you will be responsible for:
- Leading the Middle Years (7 – 9) learning and teaching programs in the school,
- Supporting teachers engaged in teaching in the Middle Years throughout the school,
- Developing and supporting strategic direction in relation to the Middle Years learning and teaching
- Transitioning students into High School
- Other appropriate duties as required by the Principal.

To be successful in this role, you will be able to meet the following criteria:
- Hold appropriate qualifications and experience across the Middle Years of education.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills,
- Proven organisational skills,
- A clear understanding of the Australian Curriculum,
- An ability to work in partnership with colleagues, students and parents/carers,
- Attend in detail to innovative and creative practices, and
- Lead the development and delivery of a vision for the middle years at St Mary’s College

To be successful in this role you will: 

  • have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education;
  • hold current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers; and
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
