With the current head of maths now in a senior leadership position, an opportunity has arisen for an inspirational mathematics specialist to lead this outstanding department. The successful candidate will be an outstanding teacher with strong leadership skills who is keen to continue and build on the consistently excellent maths results. In 2018 the maths students achieved 53.6% Grade 8/9 and 80% Grade 7/9 at GCSE, and 73% A*/B at A Level.

Students go on to study Mathematics and related subjects at Oxford, Cambridge and other Russell Group Universities. Maths is the most popular A Level for boys and girls with many taking Further Maths and STEP papers. 

You will be responsible for leading and managing a large team, and have the ability to provide clear, effective guidance to colleagues, developing their teaching practice as well as maximising standards of student attainment.

Sir William Borlase’s Grammar School, a member of Marlow Education Trust, is a selective-entry, co-educational grammar school located in the centre of the attractive Thames-side town of Marlow, Buckinghamshire.  The school is heavily oversubscribed, having an excellent academic record, placing well on a variety of national league tables. Standards of attainment are well above the national average, and in 2017 it had the highest Progress 8 score of all the Buckinghamshire Grammar schools. The school also has a high reputation for its outstanding Sixth Form and the many and varied extra curricular activities.

Sir William Borlase’s Grammar School is a co-educational grammar school in the attractive Thames-side town of Marlow, Buckinghamshire. Founded in 1624 and still based on the original site, we are proud of our heritage as we approach our 400th birthday and excited to be inspiring and empowering the aspirations of our students today. Borlase is forward-looking; in 2019 we were awarded World Class School status from High Performance Learning for our innovative practice and received a government grant of over £2million to develop further our excellent facilities.
