The role
Sutton High School is seeking an experienced and inspirational Mathematics Teacher to lead the Mathematics Department and teach highly motivated, talented girls throughout the school up to A Level and Oxbridge entrance.
As Head of Mathematics, you will have overall responsibility for the professional leadership and management of the department. You will ensure that high standards of teaching and learning are delivered, resources are used efficiently and effectively and the curriculum is led, managed and developed in accordance with school policy across the department.
Mathematics at Sutton High School
Mathematics is a very popular subject within the school and our results at GCSE and A Level are consistently outstanding. Every year the department enters large numbers of students for the UKMT challenges as well as entering team competitions such as the London-wide Hans Woyda maths tournament.
In 2017/18 we had students gain certificates of distinction in the Mathematical Olympiad for Girls, with one girl subsequently being invited to participate in the British Mathematical Olympiad. Several girls achieved gold, silver and bronze certificates in the Senior UKMT competition.

Sutton High School is an academically selective independent day school for 900 girls with an age range of 3 to 18 years.
