The purpose of this role is to be a member of the school's extended leadership team and model exemplary leadership at all times while leading the mathematics teachers. This role is also to secure the highest quality of teaching and learning and assessment within the mathematics department -- ensuring all pupils have the best learning experience and achieve the best outcomes.
This role will enable the leadership team and Governors to fulfill the vision for the whole school and specifically for the Maths faculty. As an educational practitioner, the Head of Maths must show model excellence both in and out of the classroom; lead and provide training and support for the faculty staff to develop excellence in their teaching and learning of Maths; and promote active involvement of students in their own learning of maths.
