Head of Modern Foreign Languages with the ability to teach both French and Spanish.

Great Walstead is a thriving Prep School with a particularly friendly and supportive staff, parent and pupil community.

We are looking for a well-qualified, committed and energetic individual to lead this excellent department and drive forward innovative and dynamic practice within the department. The successful candidate will have a proven record of excellence in the classroom and the ability to model good practice and lead the teaching of French and Spanish at all levels throughout the School. Not only will they manage the operational aspects of the department they will also inspire staff and pupils through their passionate approach towards teaching and learning.

The successful candidate will:

• be able to teach up to Common Entrance and Scholarship level
• take a lead role, developing and leading an exciting curriculum which enables the highest level of pupil progress and attainment
• possess a clear understanding of the current curriculum, assessment and pedagogical developments relating to Modern Foreign Languages at all key stages
• be a Form Tutor
•  have exceptional subject knowledge.

GWS has an extensive programme of extra – curricular activities and a willingness to contribute to this aspect of school would be essential
