About the School

Jumeirah College is a GEMS Premium Secondary School which delivers the National Curriculum for England, offering the full range of GCSE and A level courses. The College has been repeatedly judged to be Outstanding in inspections. Although non-selective at admission, our students achieve exceptional exam results which compare to top UK schools. In 2017 90% of GCSE results were A*-B, and at A level 54% of all grades were A*/A with 83% A*-B. This success enables our students to move on to the very top universities around the world, including Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard and Yale.

Our student body is a dynamic international community of over 1,100 students from over 65 nationalities. We take pride in the development of the whole child, recognising the importance of developing cultural and global awareness. About the Role

From January 2019 we are looking to appoint an outstanding Head of Music to join the College.

The successful candidate will be leading a developing department which is both popular and successful. The College is looking for a candidate who can grow the department into an established A Level option to compliment the success of extra-curricular Music across the College. The opportunities which Music present for students is central to the philosophy of the school. As a result, this appointment is crucial to the continued development of Jumeirah College.

The successful applicant will have the following:

  • A certified teaching qualification with exceptional subject knowledge and experience of leading a high performing teaching team. We will also consider applicants currently in a Deputy Head of department role looking for the next steps in their career.
  • Experience teaching GCSE and A-Level or equivalent. We are seeking to appoint talented, highly motivated and well-qualified individuals. You should have a proven track record of outstanding learning and teaching.
  • At least 2 years’ experience of the National Curriculum for England.

To be considered for these posts you must hold a B.Ed. or degree and PGCE / PGDE or equivalent.

The successful applicant will also possess the willingness to commit to Extra Curricular activities.
