The Board of Newcastle Grammar School seeks to appoint our next Head of School, following the announcement that Erica Thomas will be leaving after eight years of inspirational leadership.
In recent years, Newcastle Grammar School has been on a bold journey that has only strengthened its reputation for academic excellence as part of a rich holistic education and for the remarkable relationships between students, staff and families. Coeducational, with over 1,000 students, the School has two campuses at the heart of the city, one close to the ocean, next to the Cathedral for Years 5 to 12 and a more intimate campus for Kindergarten to Year 4.
Our next Head will bring warmth and energy to leading our vibrant community; continuing the momentum behind the implementation of our strategic plan; building on our exceptional outcomes for students, healthy enrolments and exciting masterplan projects; and upholding our Anglican tradition in an inclusive and welcoming environment.

Newcastle Grammar School was established in 1859 and provides an education for over 800 students from Pre-School to Year 12. The school is of the Anglican faith and has 81 teaching staff.
The school is set across two campuses, Park Campus which caters for students in Pre-school to Year 4 and Hill Campus, which caters for students in Years 5-12.

Park Campus is equipped with classrooms with interactive whiteboards, a library, a music room and a computer room.
Hill Campus has outstanding technological facilities including a commercial kitchen, computer labs and woodwork facilities. The campus also has drama facilities, PE change rooms, general classrooms and a common room for students.
Curriculum
The curriculum meets all Board of Studies requirements. A strict homework policy is implemented across all year levels. The school offers both a Higher School Certificate (HSC) pathway as well as a Vocational Education and Training (VET) pathway for students. As well as academia, the school promotes engagement with music, the arts and sport in order for students to achieve a well-balanced lifestyle.

Newcastle Grammar School works to promote an understanding of the Christian faith in the Anglican tradition. The school supports students to maintain a balanced combination of curricular and extra-curricular activities. The school engages with local organisations to provide support and funding to community programs. All students at the school are encouraged and mentored to achieve their potential. Exposure to a broad range of experiences is integral to a boys education at Newcastle Grammar School.
