Governors of The Marvell College seek to appoint an ambitious and high performing Music teacher to the post of Head of Performing Arts from September 2018.
This is a fantastic career opportunity to join a well established and successful Performing Arts team in an Academy that places a high value on the Arts.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate high standards in the teaching of Music, support the development of department colleagues through a commitment to coaching and have a strong track record of delivering high outcomes across Key stages 3 and 4.
The successful candidate will articulate an ambitious vision for the Arts within The Marvell College, including broad enrichment opportunities that build a rich and vibrant culture of performance and participation throughout the Academy.
The post will appeal to existing TLR holders or Heads of Subject seeking their next leadership post in an Academy that places high value on teamwork and continuing professional development.
The Marvell College is part of the Hull Collaborative Academy Trust and works in formal partnership with St Mary’s College, Hull. This unique and formidable partnership has seen a rapid and sustained improvement in outcomes in recent years. The Marvell College is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school in the East Riding of Yorkshire, serving students from the age of 11-16. The secondary school, situated in Kingston upon Hull has approximately 1129 students on record.
The Marvell College was established in 1953. Formerly Barham High School for girls and Jervis High School for boys, the schools later combined as one co-educational establishment and was renamed Andrew Marvell School. The secondary school converted to academy status in 2016 and changed names to The Marvell College. £27 million has been invested into learning facilities across the academic departments, which include a fully equipped gym, music recording studio, a dance and drama studio and science and eco garden.
