Are you interested in working within an OUTSTANDING school? Are you looking for the opportunity to join a successful PE department, who deliver excellent GCSE results?
This is an excellent career opportunity offering valuable leadership and management experience.
We are looking for a dynamic and driven leader with successful teaching experience across the age and ability range and someone who can demonstrate a good understanding of the potential of technology to enhance learning. The successful candidate will have a passion for Physical Education and a track record of excellent teaching, collaboration and creativity and the ability to create an outstanding environment for learning.
Tomlinscote School and Sixth Form College is a highly successful mixed comprehensive school of approximately 1600 students. We are successful because standards, facilities and learning are excellent. Our GCSE results are consistently high, while students make excellent progress as shown by the very positive Progress 8 outcomes. Our ‘disadvantaged’ students perform well and we are very proud of the breadth of our curriculum offer; all students follow a core curriculum that includes at least one modern language yet maintains options in Humanities, Creative Arts and Technology in addition to a range of subjects including industry led vocational qualifications, including an extensive range in the Sixth Form. The most recent Ofsted inspection judged the school to be “Outstanding”; this was also the judgement for Teaching. Inspectors noted that, “Much of the school’s success is due to a focus on improving teaching and monitoring students’ progress regularly”.
