The Green School Trust is seeking to appoint a dynamic, collaborative and innovative Head of Physics Department to join The Green School for Girls in January 2019. The successful candidate will be an outstanding practitioner, passionate about Physics, an excellent leader and able to demonstrate the capacity to inspire students. They will play a significant role in contributing to the curricular and co-curricular life of the school and will be expected to be flexible and creative in their approach.
The Physics Department sits within the Faculty of Science which consists of a large supportive team.We currently teach the AQA GCSE and A level specification. In recent years the department has offered trips to the Diamond Light Accelerator, CERN and events such as the Particle Physics Masterclasses offered by local universities as part of its extension and enrichment programme. We are looking for someone to build on our success and drive the department forward
The Green School for Girls is part of The Green School Trust, a Church of England Multi Academy Trust which also runs the recently opened Green School for Boys. Staff will have the opportunity to work across both schools.
A full programme of support for all new staff is provided. CPD and the development of leadership skills is an important part of the school culture and candidates who wish to progress their careers are encouraged to apply.
