We are looking for an excellent Head of Psychology with a passion for teaching to cover maternity leave. The post will suit a well-qualified and experienced individual, committed to delivering an exceptional learning experience for every pupil. Psychology is a popular and successful subject at Woldingham. This small department consists of the Head of Department and one other part-time teacher. There is an emphasis on equipping students with a strong knowledge base and encouraging independent learning. There is a culture of sharing resources and ideas.

Psychology is a popular A Level subject at Woldingham, where we offer the two year full AQA A Level course. We aim to teach our students to critically evaluate psychological theories and to apply scientific thinking to the World around them. Students regularly go on to study psychology at top universities which have previously included Oxford, Bath, and Exeter. Students regularly complete extra work outside the classroom, for example attending taster days and lectures, and entering psychology competitions.

Psychology is only taught in the Sixth Form so the ability to teach both Years 12 and 13 is essential, combined with first-rate organisational and ICT skills.

Close to London, yet in an outstandingly beautiful rural setting, Woldingham is a happy and successful Catholic boarding and day school for girls aged 11 to 18. With a strong community and culture we are building on a proud heritage that stretches back 175 years. We are committed to an exciting future that is underpinned by fresh ideas, an innovative spirit and state-of-the-art facilities.
