We are looking to appoint an experienced, motivated and inspirational Head of Religious Education to lead this core curriculum area and join our team of outstanding leaders and managers.

We are looking for an excellent classroom practitioner with proven leadership skills to manage our highly successful RE department and ensure that the leadership and development of the subject are to the highest level.

One of the key roles of the post is to oversee the continued strength of RE in the school and ensure our Catholic ethos is not only delivered in lessons but embedded throughout the wider school. You will take responsibility for the development of the RE curriculum and for establishing, monitoring and evaluating the quality and standards of provision in relation to student performance, progression and learning as set by the head teacher and governing body. You will also need to ensure outstanding provision for all learners and to take a lead role in raising the standards of achievement and attainment in the subject. Additionally, you will take play a pivotal role in driving the Catholic ethos of the school.

St Thomas the Apostle school is a 11-18 Catholic boys’ school with a co-educational Sixth Form in South London. We are an Outstanding school, 2017 TES Secondary School of the Year winners, and the 3rd best secondary school in the UK (according to The Times).
