Governors are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and well qualified graduate teacher who will lead a strong team of dedicated teachers. As a Subject Leader we would expect the candidate to be able to teach at GCSE and A level, as well as general R.E. in the 6th Form. This appointment has a wider school responsibility in working with the chaplaincy team to develop the spirituality of our students and the liturgical life of the school. St Michael’s is a Catholic School and seeks to appoint a practising Catholic to this post.
St Michael’s has been judged outstanding by Ofsted and in denominational inspections on two successive occasions and is an outward looking school with an excellent reputation in the local area. It is a strategic partner in the Catholic Teaching Alliance and works as part of the SSLP in partnership with other schools in the borough including private schools. Alongside these opportunities to work with professionals from a range of other establishments, the college was awarded transforming status by SSAT reflecting the outstanding professional development we offer. The college’s excellent location by Tower Bridge facilitates a large number of business partnerships and enrichment opportunities.
St Michael’s College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. This post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
