Purpose of role: Ensure all Belong Schools and Belong Learning meet safeguarding and health & safety statutory obligations and follow best practice. Children, Staff and Visitors are safe and protected from harm.  

BELONG LEARNING CiC operates to meet the unmet needs of children and their families by disrupting patterns of exclusion and transforming life chances. All children attending Belong Schools have an EHCP with identified SEMH and mental health needs, as such every child is vulnerable. We are a growing organisation, with sites in Devon and Gloucestershire.  

Working alongside the Executive Headteacher, the Head of Safeguarding and Health & Safety Compliance will be a key member of our central strategic leadership team. Fulfilling a critical central services role, you will ensure all Belong Schools provide a safe environment and that all staff have a relentless focus on safeguarding, in its widest sense. Meticulous and organised, you will understand quality assurance and monitoring processes and how to use data effectively.  


The role is home based but the requirement to travel to all sites on a regular basis is a necessity.  

The role includes the following: 

Oversight and Leadership of Company Safeguarding Strategy   

Oversight and leadership of Health and Safety compliance  

CPOMS MIS management and development  

Design and strategy of companywide safeguarding and Health & Safety training (CPD), training calendar and training records  

Review and update Safeguarding, Health and Safety and all associated policies and procedures to ensure compliance and best practice  

Commission or conduct CP investigations, providing recommendations and tools for implementation (where necessary)  

Safeguarding Audits and Local Authority 360 Reviews  

Health and Safety Audits  

To formally challenge (in writing) multi-agency partners (where necessary)  

Company final sign-off for trips, visits, activities (EVC)  

Networking with multi-agency colleagues to support best practice and promote the company's vision and ethos.   

Site Risk Assessments and Health & Safety Audits  

Audit and report – in-house Health & Safety compliance checks and records  

Chair of central strategic safeguarding committee  

Chair of school strategic safeguarding group  


 

General duties and responsibilities: 

Create a positive, aspirational, and safe ethos and culture. 

Be an effective member of the team. 

Promote and safeguard the welfare of the children 

Work closely with other staff to ensure continuity and consistency of BELONG LEARNING values. Ensure BELONG LEARNING policies are adhered to.

 Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children is paramount and all staff are expected to share and embrace this commitment. Salary  - Dependent on experience- BAND G-H   £ 32,910- 39,880  

Contract Type – Full time permanent
