Job overview

‘All Together Better’

Governors at Belmont Primary School are looking for a Head of School to work closely with our Executive Head Teacher and with Woodside (our Federation partner school). We are looking for someone who wants to influence and guide our vibrant learning community. We need someone who has a strong belief in the potential of all learners and has an excellent record of achieving the highest standards of learning behaviour and outcomes for all.

Belmont is a popular two form entry school with a nursery unit. We fully believe in our motto ‘All Together Better’ and recognise that we all work best if we are well supported. We have an inclusive provision for children with either a physical disability or vision impairment and have a specialist resourced provision (Russell House) for children with a range of complex needs.

We are proud of our school. We have well maintained buildings and grounds and as a consequence our pupils can learn indoors and outside at all times of the year. We work hard to encourage pupils to take full part in the life of the school. This includes opportunities to develop musically, to use the latest technologies to support learning, to be actively involved in physical activity, to join our extensive range of clubs and to share responsibility for looking after the environment. Our pupils are a delight to be with. They learn, play and respond very well together and have a genuine and very tangible love for their school. They are well mannered and well behaved and they move very confidently around using resources and spaces wisely, looking after their school and each other very well. As a consequence they are a real pleasure to teach.

Our main aim is to provide high quality teaching and an effective, inclusive learning environment for all our pupils. Our staff team is committed to providing a secure and happy environment in which all pupils are able to thrive socially, emotionally and academically.

As a successful school, we are committed to supporting and learning from others. We work closely with our partner school and with other schools locally and further afield. We provide extensive CPD for all our staff and are interested in appointing someone who can further develop opportunities for staff to flourish.

For further information about the school please visit the school website: www.belmont.bexley.sch.uk

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Offers of employment are subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure and other employment checks.

If you are an excellent practitioner with high standards and expectations in all aspects of school life and can play your part in helping us be the very best we can be, then we would very much like to hear from you.

In return we can offer you:

  • A well established, supportive and forward thinking leadership team
  • A well-resourced school and happy well motivated children who are keen to learn.
  • Great opportunities for professional and personal development
