Job overview
The Federated Governing Body of Lindsworth and Springfield House Schools is seeking to appoint an innovative Head of School, who is committed to the achievement of excellent outcomes for disadvantaged children who have a wide range of complex social, emotional and mental health needs.
We are looking for an outstanding candidate who will:
- Be an inspirational leader who can shape and deliver our strategy whilst running the school on a day-to-day basis
- Have the highest of expectations for all our students and a relentless focus on safeguarding
- Be robust in meeting the challenges of a changing educational landscape and increasingly complex needs
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders and the wider educational community
The Federated Governing Body of Lindsworth and Springfield House Schools was established in November 2015. We are striving to further build the collaboration across the two schools whilst continuing to strengthen our relationships with schools outside the federation for the benefit of our pupils.
Lindsworth School is a mixed day/residential special school meeting the needs of 114 secondary aged pupils and, since January 2018, 24 Key Stage 2 pupils following our success in extending the age range of the school. All pupils have been assessed as having social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Many of the pupils have medical diagnoses including ADHD, ASC, PTSD, PDA, ODD and Attachment Disorder. They have also experienced significant disruption to their education due to multiple school moves, fixed term and permanent exclusions and periods of interrupted attendance.
Ofsted judged the school and its residential provision as Good in January 2016 and December 2016 respectively. We are committed to driving the school forward to Outstanding in both these areas.
Exciting plans are in place to rebuild some of the school as part of the Priority Schools Building Programme.
This is a school where you can make a real and lasting difference to the young people in our care. We are highly ambitious to provide our students with the best education and preparation for a happy and successful life in the adult world.
Closing Date: Monday 12 February 2018, 12.30pm
