Hillingdon Manor School, a specialist education service is looking for a passionate, enthusiastic and committed Head of School to join their dedicated team at our secondary site. The salary range for this position is £55,000-£63,000 p/a depending on experience. We are in commuting distance of Cowley, Colham Green, Yiewsley, Hillingdon, Hayes and surrounding areas.


At Hillingdon Manor School, we provide specialist education for c185 pupils, aged between 3.5-19 years old with the Primary School supporting around c60 students and the Secondary School supporting around c125 pupils. Located across two sites, we deploy of a wide range of teaching strategies to engage and develop the progress of learners, who present with a range of learning difficulties and styles. Our pupils are taught in smaller class sizes and access a specialist curriculum that has been individualised to meet their needs.


As Head of School for our secondary site, you will be responsible for leading on the day to day operational function of the secondary site, with direct line management responsibilities for the Senior Leadership & Management Team across Key Stage 3/4/5. You will also have oversight of all management of staff performance and personnel for the secondary staff team. You will act as Designated Safeguarding Lead for our secondary site and manage all day to day safeguarding requirements. You will report directly in to the Executive Head teacher and will work with them to ensure operations are working in line with the School Development Plan and are compliant with the Independent School Standards.


This role requires experience in both pastoral management and co-ordinating and ensuring effective delivery of a specialist curriculum across a secondary provision. Additionally, the suitable candidate will be experienced with monitoring EHCP provision and managing the EHCP process and Annual Review process. The role will also require experience in managing pupil attendance and liaison with external stakeholders involved in the process for supporting our pupils.


Offered on a permanent basis, this role would suit a proactive individual with a minimum of 5 year’s previous experience as a Senior Leader or experience at a Deputy Head teacher or Head of School level.


Applicants must meet and evidence the following criteria:-


Relevant teaching qualification with proven experience as a Senior Leader (5 years minimum) or Deputy Head/Head of School level

Have previously held responsibility in a pastoral and curriculum oversight capacity

Dynamic leadership skills with previous experience of leading and developing a team

Proven experience as an outstanding teacher

Experience of working with children and young people with ASC or similar

Experience and knowledge of Independent School Standards

Experience and knowledge of managing EHCP provision in a school setting

Experience of acting as a DSL within a school
