‘An Exciting Opportunity – Come and join our “Outstanding” team at Eaton Hall Specialist Academy.

The Trustees of this “Outstanding” (Ofsted March 2018) Academy are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated and dedicated Head of School to lead our superb leadership team. This vacancy has arisen due to the current Headteacher taking on the role of Executive Headteacher over both Eaton Hall and its brand new sister school Bure Park located in Great Yarmouth.

The successful candidate will be a key leader in an organisation that has inclusion at the heart of everything it does. With this in mind we are looking to appoint someone who has creative and innovative approaches to facilitating our pupils' educational needs.

Eaton Hall Specialist Academy is a residential SEMH (social, emotional and mental health)  school for boys from Year 2 through to Year 11. The multi-disciplinary team consists of care staff, teachers and TAs who facilitate the school’s twin aims of re-integrating pupils into their home environment and where appropriate mainstream school.

Pupils arrive with disrupted educational experiences and complex difficulties and our team are responsible for ensuring that they leave with superb outcomes.

Our school shares the vision of our sponsor, the Boudica Academy Trust, that improving the life chances of all pupils has to be at the heart of all we do.  To achieve this Boudica firmly believes in valuing and championing all members of staff employed throughout the trust.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone wishing to be part of a highly motivated exceptional team who strive to  establish the highest standards and who are instrumental in ensuring that we change children’s lives. As such we are looking to recruit an experienced senior school leader. Whilst direct experience in a special education setting is by no means essential leadership experience in areas of SEN or ‘pastoral’ work will give an important context for anyone looking to move into this richly rewarding and inspiring area of school education.

The successful applicant must be prepared to undergo any further training as requested by the Trust and will be subject to an enhanced disclosure through the Disclosure and Barring Service. This post is likely to come under the requirements of the Childcare (Disqualification) 2009 Regulations, therefore you will be required to complete a declaration form to establish whether disqualified under these regulations.

An informal discussion and visit with the school is encouraged.

This academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The applicant must be prepared to undertake an Enhanced DBS check and Prohibition Order Checks in relation to Qualified Teachers. We are an equal opportunities employer. Successful applicants will also be subject to an enhanced disclosure through the Disclosure and Barring Service.
